Fitness for Carers
Being a carer is a full time job leaving little time for anything else; least of all time to exercise. But, how important do you think it is to maintain a healthy level of fitness and wellbeing in order to have both the mental and physical strength to be able to continue caring for a child with SEN and/or a disability? Here at Help UK we like to follow *The Oxygen Mask Rule*. Flight attendants always remind parents that if the airplane cabin loses pressure, you should apply your *oxygen mask* first, and then your child’s.
This is because a parent without *oxygen* is likely to pass out before getting the child’s *mask* in place. Help UK has enlisted the help of professionals to devise a programme that will not only have you physically fit, but mentally fit too.
